Sound familiar?

It's Saturday at 6:30 AM. Weigh-ins start at 7:00. A parent texts: "Which gym is the tournament at? Jefferson or Lincoln?" Then another parent texts the same thing. Then two more. The address was in the email you sent Monday. Nobody reads their email at 6:30 AM — they just text you while you're setting up the bracket board.

Your club practices Monday, Wednesday, and Friday — except this week Friday's practice is cancelled because the gym is being used for a school dance. You mentioned it at Wednesday's practice. Three families show up Friday anyway because their kid forgot to tell them. Now they've driven across town for nothing.

You register your club for six tournaments this season. Each one has different weigh-in times, different check-in procedures, and different start times. You send individual emails for each tournament. By tournament four, parents are mixing up the details from tournament two. One family misses weigh-ins because they had the wrong arrival time.

What this looks like in practice

Coach Tony enters the winter season into iCalFeed the first week of November. Monday-Wednesday-Friday practices at Ridgemont Middle School wrestling room. Six weekend tournaments — each with the gym name, address, weigh-in time, and check-in details in the event description. He includes notes like "Weigh-in 7:00-7:30 AM sharp. Bring singlet, headgear, and skin check form." He texts the link to 30 families. Setup: 30 minutes.

Rebecca's 12-year-old son wrestles for the Ridgemont Grapplers. She opens her phone Wednesday to check the weekend. Saturday: Capital City Invitational at Lincoln Gym. Weigh-in 7:00-7:30 AM, first bout 8:30 AM. Address: 440 Lincoln Blvd. She taps the address and gets directions. It's 35 minutes away, so she sets her alarm for 5:45 AM. All the info she needs, right in her calendar.

Thursday night, the school tells Coach Tony the wrestling room is being used for a parent-teacher conference on Friday. He cancels Friday's practice in iCalFeed and adds a note: "Extra conditioning on your own — run 2 miles or jump rope 20 minutes." By Friday morning, every family's phone shows the cancellation. No one drives to a locked gym.

How iCalFeed compares

vs. Group texts

Tournament details lost in a thread of weigh-in questions, carpool requests, and "Can someone bring tape?" messages.

Weigh-in time, address, and check-in details sit in the calendar event. One tap and you see everything.

vs. Team emails

Six tournament emails, each with different details. By February, parents can't remember which email has the info for this Saturday's tournament.

Each tournament is its own calendar event. Check the date, see the details. No email archaeology.

vs. Printed season schedule

Has dates and locations but not weigh-in times, check-in procedures, or the two schedule changes that happened since it was printed.

Every event has full details that stay up to date. When something changes, every phone reflects it.

vs. TrackWrestling or Baumspage listings

Great for brackets and results. Not great for telling parents where to be and when to arrive before the tournament starts.

Pre-tournament info — arrival time, weigh-in, parking — lives in the calendar event. TrackWrestling handles the brackets during the event.
